Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy Basic 64 hour Firefighting Course

  - June 3, 10, 14, 19 (Saturday), 21, & 24
  - July 1, 6, 10 (Saturday), 12, 15, 22, & 27
  - August 5, 12

TIMES: Weeknights are from 1815 - 2215 and Saturdays are from 0800 - 1600

LOCATION: Claylick and White Bluff Fire Departments. Location will be specified per class at www.claylickfire.com/calendar

REQUIRED MATERIALS:
  - IFSTA Essentials of Firefighting 5th Edition (ISBN 978-0-87939-284-0)
    OR
  - IFSTA Essentials of Firefighting and Fire Department Operations (ISBN 978-0-13-515111-2)
***Both books have all the required material for the Basic 64 hour course, but the IFSTA Essentials of Firefighting and Fire Department Operations (ISBN 978-0-13-515111-2) has more chapters  to meet all of the requirements for Fire Fighter I and II Levels of NFPA® 1001 (2008 edition).***
  - Full structural firefighting ensemble to include:
         - Firefighting gloves
         - Turnout coat and pants with suspenders
         - Helmet with functional eye protection
         - Structural firefighting boots
         - Protective hood
         - SCBA specific to student’s fire department will be required on certain class nights

  - Ch.17 Loss Control

***There are 24 available slots for this course and students must register with Wes Bryant by May 25, 2010 at 1600. Pre-registration consists of a phone call reserving your slot. All required materials are the responsibilty of the student. Registered students and open slots can be seen below. Students that pass the basic course will have the opportunity to attend a live burn weekend at the Fire Academy which will make them eligible for FF 1 Certification with the State of Tennessee Commission on Firefighting.
